About the Cause

The Prophet (saw) said, ‘He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while the neighbour to his side goes hungry’. (Bayhaqi)

Join the fight against hunger! The Open Kitchen, a Nottingham institution that has been serving 130 FREE hot meals EVERY DAY for the past three years, needs your support to keep feeding the community. By participating in the Robin Hood Half Marathon, you'll conquer a scenic 13.1-mile course while fueling hope for those facing food insecurity.

Our community kitchens serve free meals to rough sleepers, low-income families and refugees in Nottingham. The Open Kitchens welcome everyone and provide hot, nutritious meals daily, seven days a week.

The Open Kitchen provides those experiencing food poverty with a safe space run for and by the community, where they will be treated with respect and dignity. There is also a meals on Wheels service for the particularly vulnerable. The kitchen serves as a base for other types of assistance, including distributing sleeping bags for homeless people and essential household items for low-income families.

Give to The Open Kitchen to feed your neighbours here in the UK.
